To be clear, you installed NVIDIA after the install and it is all working properly.

Looks like you have seen some of those directions, did you look at this part? Unfortunately I find Linux documentation very poor to noobs like me.

So, have you looked at this yet: Install Arch Macbook Pro Arch, though I've never used it has the best documentation, and would love to try it just because of that fact alone. Your using a Mac! blahhhh haha.just kidding.
